Unit Notes

# Note
1 Originally raised in 1697 as Buckinghamshire Militia
2 Disbandment Date given in Frederick is 31 July 1908.
3 If Battalion was disbanded in July 1908, then two separate 3 Battalions existed at the same time, as Frederick has 4 Battalion convert to 3 Battalion on 14 June 1908.
4 Which also means that two 4 Battalions existed at the same time as well as Frederick has 31 March 1908 for the conversion date of 2 Volunteer Battalion to 4 Battalion, which is before the June date that the Militia 4 Battalion converted to 3 Battalion!!
5 Thefore I have adopted 31 March 1908 as the Conversion/Disbandment Date for all versions of 3 Battalion and 4 Battalion for the database date.
