3 The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry
3 Battalion The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry
Unit Notes
1 |
Originally raised in 1697 as Buckinghamshire Militia |
2 |
Disbandment Date given in Frederick is 31 July 1908. |
3 |
If Battalion was disbanded in July 1908, then two separate 3 Battalions existed at the same time, as Frederick has 4 Battalion convert to 3 Battalion on 14 June 1908. |
4 |
Which also means that two 4 Battalions existed at the same time as well as Frederick has 31 March 1908 for the conversion date of 2 Volunteer Battalion to 4 Battalion, which is before the June date that the Militia 4 Battalion converted to 3 Battalion!! |
5 |
Thefore I have adopted 31 March 1908 as the Conversion/Disbandment Date for all versions of 3 Battalion and 4 Battalion for the database date. |
