In 1603, Sir Walter Scott of Buccleugh raised an additional regiment for the Brigade |

In 1629, Lord Scott of Buccleugh raised another regiment for the Brigade |

In 1688, most of the Brigade formed part of William of Orange's forces in his succssful landing in England |

In 1782, The Prince of Orange ordered the Brigade to adopt Dutch uniforms, colours and language but the officers objected and returned to Scotland |

In 1794, the Brigade was added to the English Establishment as the Scotch Brigade organised as four battalions |
