1 In 1568, Raised in Scotland for service in Holland as the Scots Brigade
2 In 1577, the States-General requested additional help and a further 2600 men were raised organised in 13 companies
3 In 1603, Sir Walter Scott of Buccleugh raised an additional regiment for the Brigade
4 In 1629, Lord Scott of Buccleugh raised another regiment for the Brigade
5 In 1688, most of the Brigade formed part of William of Orange's forces in his succssful landing in England
6 In 1782, The Prince of Orange ordered the Brigade to adopt Dutch uniforms, colours and language but the officers objected and returned to Scotland
7 In 1794, the Brigade was added to the English Establishment as the Scotch Brigade organised as four battalions
8 In 1795, Reduced to two battalions
9 In 1795, Reduced to one battalion
10 In 1804, Brigade was redesignated 1 Battalion 94 Regiment of Foot (See History)
