There are two rival theories of what happened in 1908!!
1. Westlake, whom I have followed here, has 1 Volunteer Battalion being split between the new 4 Battalion (formed from 2 Volunteer Battalion) and the new 5 Battalion (formed from 3 Volunteer Battalion).
2. Frederick has the alternative view that 1 Volunteer Battalion was used to form both 4 and 5 Battalions, while both 2 Volunteer Battalion and 3 Volunteer Battalion were broken up between the two new Battalions! |
