3 There is no mention of attachment to HQ Esquimault Fortress in July in the Battalion War Diary. On a 6 Canadian Infantry Division sports-day on 23 Jul 1943, the Battalion represented 18 Canadian Infantry Brigade and not Esquimault Fortress.
4 On 05 Aug 1944 Battalion came under command HQ North Caribbean Area under command of Brig TD Daly MC
5 On 01 Oct 1944, Brig J Jefferson assumed command of North Caribbean Area
6 Although the bulk of the Reserve Battalion mobilised in 1942 as 1 Battalion; officially 1 Battalion was a new creation and the old 1 Battalion was redesignated as 2 (Reserve) Battalion
